The concert was a real treat... I like Faith, and I've always been a Tim fan, but I think I'm working on a *serious* Tim crush right about now... and from the sounds of the (capacity) crowd, I'm not alone.
Not gonna recap the entire performance, there are many other music reviews that are much more articulate, but I will say that when Tim took the stage for his "solo" section, and began with "Some people call me a space cowboy..." I started screaming like a fool! I really do like his peaches and would like to shake his tree *blush*.
We attempted to see Louie Louie Friday night, but no one @ the MGM seemed to have a clue who he was or where he was performing... at one point we were directed to the Excalibur. Do you know who's at the Excalibur? Louie Anderson. Classic.
... so we headed over to the Hard Rock to see if we could catch the Sandbox set(s). They were OK, but the crowd energy seemed fairly low.
Spent some money & time on slot machines (at the end of the evening, I was up $80 - by the end of the weekend, I was only ahead $5, but it's better than nothing, right?), had a late night/early morning snack and rolled into my mom's around 4:45am... haven't done that in awhile, and definitely felt my age Saturday morning.
However, I think the focus of the weekend was definitely food... stand-outs included:
Emeril's - We were doing a logistics recon run on the MGM property on Friday and realized we had skipped breakfast, so a big expensive lunch @ Emeril's seemed the best idea (at the time). The meal was yummy, and the Banana Cream Pie is to die for - we took a slice home for mom, it's her favorite dessert and she was not disappointed.
Spice Market Buffet at Planet Hollywood - Was good when it was the Spice Market @ the Aladdin, was missed when it was gone during the revamp and changeover, and is great now - we started with a chocolate covered strawberry... and ended with freshly made cotton candy... the middle's a bit of a blur, but we left satisfied & smiling.
